238. Oh, holy pious one. Rise and I will divulge to you concealed matters. The composition of a man's spirit is this: HIS spirit is DRAWN from the Holy Spirit, WHICH IS MALCHUT. HIS Neshamah IS DRAWN from the Tree of Life. And since the Holy Spirit, WHICH IS MALCHUT, grants of its strength, its Chariots give of their power immediately. Their power is the bones and limbs; all are from the side of MALCHUT'S CHARIOTS, and construct each other, THAT IS, BONE OVER BONE AND LIMB OVER LIMB. The Other Side provides the flesh and from his side, only the flesh is provided and nothing else. His, THE OTHER SIDE'S, Chariots provide all the veins and arteries to carry the blood to the flesh. After these give their energy, the heavens, THAT ARE ZEIR ANPIN, provide their energies. What does this consist of? It is the skin that is spread over all of it, as they are, MEANING LIKE THE HEAVENS THAT SURROUND AND ENCOMPASS EVERYTHING.

238. אִי חֲסִידָא קַדִּישָׁא, תָּא וְאַגָלֵּי לָךְ מִלָּה סְתִימָא. בִּנְיָינָא דְּגוּפָא דְּבַר נָשׁ הָכִי הוּא, רוּחָא מֵעִם רוּחָא דְּקוּדְשָׁא. נִשְׁמְתָא מִגּוֹ אִילָנָא דְּחַיֵּי. כֵּיוָן דְּרוּחָא קַדִּישָׁא, יָהַב חֵילָא, מִיַּד רְתִיכִין דִּילֵיהּ. יָהֲבִין חֵילַיְיהוּ. חֵילָא דִּלְהוֹן, גַּרְמֵי וְשַׁיְיפִין. כֻּלְּהוּ מִסִּטְרָא דִּלְהוֹן, וְתִקּוּנַיְיהוּ דָּא עַל דָּא. סט"א יָהָבַת בִּשְׂרָא, וּמִסִּטְרָא דִּילָהּ, אַתְיָא בִּשְׂרָא, וְלָא מִלָּה אַחֲרָא. רְתִיכִין דִּילָהּ, יָהֲבִין כָּל אִינּוּן גִּידִין וְעַרְקִין, לְאַמְשָׁכָא דָּמָא לְבִשְּׂרָא. בָּתַר דְּאִלֵּין יָהֲבֵי חֵילַיְיהוּ, שְׁמַיָא יַהֲבֵי חֵילַיְיהוּ, וּמַאן אִינּוּן. עוֹר דְּאִתְמְשָׁךְ עַל כֹּלָּא. כְּגַוְונָא דִּלְהוֹן.

239. Following this, heavens and earth are joined together, THAT IS, ZEIR ANPIN AND MALCHUT, and provide these four foundations: fire, water, air and earth, to protect these and to cover everything. Then, WHEN IT DIES, each one takes back its part that it provided TO THAT BODY, and it becomes void. The part of the Holy Spirit and its Chariots THAT WAS PROVIDED TO THE PERSON endures. The Holy Spirit its spirit exists, and with the Neshamah they rise up. The Chariots of the Holy Spirit, their bones endure. Therefore, the importance of the body is the bones as it is written: "And make strong your bones" (Yeshayah 58:11), but flesh is not mentioned this way.

239. לְבָתַר מִתְחַבְּרָן שְׁמַיָא וְאַרְעָא כַּחֲדָא, וְיָהֲבֵי ד' יְסוֹדֵי אִלֵּין: אֶשָּׁא, וּמַיָא וַאֲוִירָא, וְעַפְרָא. לְאַגָּנָא עַל אִלֵּין, וּלְחַפְיָא עַל כֹּלָּא. לְבָתַר, כָּל חַד נָטִיל חוּלָקֵיהּ דְּיָהַב, וְאִתְבָּטֵּל. רוּחָא דְּקוּדְשָׁא, וּרְתִיכִין דִּילֵיהּ, חוּלָקַיְיהוּ קַיְּימָא. רוּחָא דְּקוּדְשָׁא, רוּחָא דִּילֵיהּ קַיְּימָא וְנִשְׁמְתָא סַלְּקָא. רְתִיכִין דְּרוּחָא דְּקוּדְשָׁא, גַּרְמִין דִּלְהוֹן קַיְימִין. וע"ד חָשִׁיבוּ דְּגוּפָא, גַּרְמִין הֲווֹ. ובג"כ כְּתִיב, וְעַצְמוֹתֶיךָ יַחֲלִיץ. וּבִשְׂרָא לָא כְּתִיב בֵּיהּ הָכִי.

Bone Flesh Garments Hands Job Judgment Other Side Satan, The

240. As long as the flesh from the Other Side stays in existence, the Satan is standing there to thwart. Once the flesh is consumed, he loses his authority to thwart. Since he has no element of support, HE NO LONGER HAS A PART IN IT. About this, it is written: "His flesh is consumed away that it cannot be seen; and his bones that were not seen stick out" (Iyov 33:21). "THAT IT CANNOT BE SEEN" MEANS the Satan is ready to denounce, but cannot because "his flesh is consumed." "His bones that were not seen stick out" means that they are not seen by the Satan who would get close to him, since he has no part in him once each is detached, MEANING EVERY BONE from its place. He cannot prosecute them and be there to denounce them. After the flesh is consumed, no judgment can be obtained and he is not available to incriminate, since he has no support. And he does not mention that person in any way in the world. Rabbi Shimon said, Now I understand these things properly, MEANING WHAT IT IS WRITTEN, "AND THE ADVERSARY STANDING AT HIS RIGHT HAND TO THWART HIM." Certainly, he can incriminate him, AS LONG AS HE HAS NOT YET REMOVED HIS SOILED GARMENTS.

240. וְכָל זִמְנָא דְּבִשְׂרָא דְּסִטְרָא אַחֲרָא קַיְּימָא בְּקִיּוּמָא, הַהוּא שָׂטָן קַיְּימָא לְאַסְטָנָא אִתְאֲבִיד בִּשְׂרָא, לֵית לֵיהּ רְשׁוּ לְאַסְטָנָא, דְּהָא לֵית לֵיהּ עַל מַה דְּיִסְתְּמִיךְ. וע"ד כְּתִיב, יִכֶל בְּשָׂרוֹ מֵרוֹאִי וְשֻׁפּוּ עַצְמוֹתָיו לֹא רֻאוּ. מֵהַהוּא חֵיזוּ דְּשָׂטָן דְּקַיְּימָא לְאַסְטָנָא, דְּלָא יָכִיל, כֵּיוָן דְּיִכֶל בְּשָׂרוֹ. וְשֻׁפּוּ עַצְמוֹתָיו לֹא רֻאוּ, לָא אִתְחָזוּן לְקָרְבָא לְגַבֵּיהּ, דְּלֵית לֵיהּ בְּהוֹן חוּלָקָא, כֵּיוָן דְּשָׁף כָּל חַד וְחַד מִדּוּכְתֵּיהּ, לָא תָּבַע עָלַיְיהוּ, וְלָא קָאֵים לְאַסְטָנָא בְּגִינַיְיהוּ. לְבָתַר דְּבִשְׂרָא מִתְעֲכְּלָא, הָא לָא יִתְבַּע דִּינָא, וְלָא קָאֵים לְאַסְטָנָא, דְּהָא לֵית לֵיהּ עַל מַה דְּיִסְתְּמִיךְ, וְלָא אִדְכַּר לב"נ בְּשׁוּם מִלָּה דְּעָלְמָא. א"ר שִׁמְעוֹן, הַשְׁתָּא יְדַעְנָא מִלִּין עַל תִּקּוּנַיְיהוּ, וַדַּאי יָאוּת הוּא לֵיהּ לְאַסְטָנָא.
